Another success of the “exchange” campaign

On Thursday, May 20, 2021 In the non-public nursery and kindergarten “Children’s World” in Siewierz, the action “Give your things a second life” took place. In this project, organized by the SMART Foundation for Education, it was possible to exchange clothes.

For everyone who has not yet participated in such an event – a word of explanation 🙂

Parents of children from the aforementioned kindergarten gathered in a designated place to exchange clothes. If both parties were interested, the exchange was cashless. But there was a rule: clothes must be clean and in good condition.

The ecological, economic, fashionable and very easy action was very popular among parents of children attending the “Children’s World” Non-Public Nursery and Kindergarten in Siewierz.

Meeting with a dietitian

On May 12, 2021 As part of the project “Give your things a second life”, workshops with a dietitian were held. During the workshops, the participants tried to answer the following questions:

– how not to waste food?

– how to cook in the spirit of less waste?

– how to make something good out of the food that is left, i.e. culinary zero waste?

– why do we waste so much food?

Through play and activating pictorial forms, the participants learned about the path that food travels from the stage of cultivation, through transport, shop, home, and finally a landfill. They also learned ways to avoid wasting food.

We hope that the two-hour workshop inspired the participants to introduce the principles of not wasting food in their home. Moreover, they made us realize that the food choices we make and the knowledge of the basics of healthy eating are extremely important in the fight against food waste, as well as in the context of environmental protection.

Big cleaning!

On Saturday (May 8, 2021), in the area of the Siewierz Forest District, there was a great cleaning of the areas of the former Anna calamine mine in Strzemieszyce Małe.
The cleaning action covered the forest on the Ore Trail in Dąbrowa Górnicza – Strzemieszyce Małe. Dozens of people cleaned the area. A very large amount of garbage was collected: mainly glass and plastic bottles, tires, plastic bags. There were also waste of larger dimensions, such as car bumpers, TV housings, cable armor. All participants were provided with gloves, masks, garbage bags and drinking water.
Due to the state of the epidemic and the imposed restrictions, cleaning up the litter in the forests was possible in small groups and / or individually, in compliance with the requirements of the sanitary regime.
At the end, the participants of the action roasted sausages by the fire and the children enjoyed sweets.
The organizers of this action were:
– Art-Eco plus Association
– Foundation for SMART education
– Siewierz Forest District, State Forests
– Sztygarka City Museum Mms.
The action was also attended by:
– Association of Dąbrowskie Social Initiatives

We hope that we will manage to take care of the environment and the surrounding area together more than once.

Another computer class from the “E- Senior” project

The next computer classes are behind us. And although seniors are just starting their adventure with the computer, they are full of enthusiasm and wholeheartedly involved.
The program of today’s classes included:

– using basic computer functions,

– keyboard and special characters support,

– basic keyboard shortcuts.

Seniors do not hide the fact that the computer course is not only an interesting way of spending free time, but most of all the acquisition of new skills that are so much needed today.
“Today everything happens online. If we cannot navigate in this virtual world, we have limited and difficult contact with the real world. Therefore, to go ahead and deal with it
in everyday life we have to learn to live on the net. Especially now, during the pandemic… ”- says one of the seniors.

We invite willing people to participate in the next classes, which will take place next Friday, i.e. May 14, 2021. at. 4 p.m. at the Technical School No. 4 Transport in Sosnowiec at ul. Kilińskiego 31, room 32. To register, please call 737-180-406 and 500-714-676.

Forest cleaning action

As co-organizers of the forest cleaning action on the Ore Trail in Dąbrowa Górnicza, we invite you to take part in this extremely important initiative for the environment.
We start on May 8, 2021 at 12:00.
We guarantee a nice atmosphere, a lot of satisfaction and a bit of pleasure for the palate.
Welcome !!!

The last weeks of joint training are ahead of us

Behind us is a significant part of the trainings carried out as part of the Sport for Everyone project. We are sorry to think about its end, from which we are only a few meetings away. We already know that although the project will formally end, we will certainly continue our meetings. After all, regularity in a healthy lifestyle is the basis, and taking care of your health in the company of friends is not only easier, but also gives you double joy. Thanks to our participation in trainings, we have gained many new friends.

Thanks to regular training and the implementation of a few basic principles of a healthy lifestyle into our daily habits, we have rejuvenated our bodies a bit. We have also increased the level of self-discipline and replaced all previous forms of spending free time with active forms. We are glad that everyone could see on their own skin that spending time actively means more beneficial and pleasant for the body.

In line with the new beliefs and introduced habits, the May weekend is also marked by sport. We now have more time to cultivate it, although on not every day the weather pampers us with the sun, sometimes we train on rainy or windy days. However, in the era of a prevailing pandemic, we try to minimize the risk of catching a cold so as not to weaken our bodies. After all, health is the key! So yesterday we were running in the park, and today, because there is a slight gale outside, most of us practice at home. Yes, we meet realistically and virtually also outside the planned classes, hence we can boast about over-planned trainings :). This is probably the best proof that the sports lifestyle has become our passion. The project brings us and the community around us, which we share with our new hobby – only benefits.

Remember that summer is fast approaching. We hope that, as announced by the rulers, it will not be so bad. Perhaps, however, it is better to prepare for it and dazzle others with a shapely figure. Remember, there is always motivation, and everything becomes easier with it 🙂

Follow us on a regular basis, because we are preparing a little surprise for you that will help you take the first steps in changing your lifestyle. It will also allow you to discover the joy of regular physical activity: D.

Further classes from the “E-Senior” project

The second computer classes for seniors as part of the “E-Senior” project are behind us.
During the classes, knowledge of building and operating a computer was passed on. The lecturer also tried to answer seniors’ questions regarding the purchase of new equipment, namely:

What should you consider when buying a computer?
What configuration should the computer have to properly select components for the individual needs of the user?
Is it better to buy a desktop computer or a laptop?

These and many other questions were asked by the students. The level of classes is adjusted to the skills of the participants.
Computer classes are still conducted in a stationary system with sanitary and / or remote rigor.

We wish all students a fruitful learning and we cordially invite you to this Friday, i.e.

Exchange action in April

On April 29, 2021 in the “Szofa” trading company in Dąbrowa Górnicza, we conducted the clothes exchange campaign for the second time. It is a very popular event that attracts new participants every time. Due to the restrictions related to the pandemic, the action took place outside the company’s building, in the open air. During the action, it was possible to replace: clothing, shoes, accessories and jewelry.

The action was carried out as part of the project entitled “Give your things a second life”

Ecological workshops in kindergarten

On April 26, 2021, a group of “Smurfs” and “Skrzatów” from the Private Nursery
and Kindergartens in Siewierz participated in organized ecological workshops
as part of the project “Give your things a second life”. During the workshops, the Headmaster of the Kindergarten introduced the children to the problem of environmental pollution, familiarized them with the subject of the protection of trees and shrubs and the popularization of known tree species in our area, and encouraged them to act for environmental protection.

All preschoolers were very eager to get involved in planting trees together
and shrubs. Children planted seedlings for recycling pots. As many as 40 seedlings were planted. At the end of planting, the preschoolers undertook to take care of the planted trees and shrubs.
