Seniors in the world of the JakDojade application

Holidays are approaching fast. In a few days we will set off on journeys… small and large ones.

To make the journey smooth, safe and stress-free, seniors at computer classes organized as part of the E-Senior 2 project project no.: 2022-1-PL01-ESC30-SOL-000067331 familiarized themselves with the JakDojade application. They independently downloaded the application from Google Play, App Store and Windows Store. The tool will help seniors travel by public transport in Polish cities, search for bus, tram or subway connections in dozens of towns, and set a route between planned destinations. The application also takes into account transfers, vehicle delays, changes in timetables, walking times, ticket purchase and many other parameters.

The participants of the project quickly mastered the use of the JakDojade tool. They were positively surprised by the possibilities offered by the application. It will probably be used by Seniors to plan their holiday trips.

I am ECO – Code of the Young Ecologist

A series of ecological workshops organized as part of the “Earth Day” holiday in the Non-Public Nursery and Kindergarten “Świat Dziecka” in Siewierz ended on April 26, 2023. On this day, there was a summary of ecological activities for our planet. Groups of preschoolers: Smurfs, Leprechauns, Kropeczki together with their guardians created the Code of the Young Ecologist, i.e. a set of rights and obligations that every young Guardian of Nature should observe.

Each preschooler is responsible for:

  1. Take care of the earth.
  2. Respect nature.
  3. Take care of the animals.
  4. plant trees.
  5. Reduce exhaust emissions.

The three-day ecological workshops were organized as part of the project “Small in age, but great in eco-heart” project no.: 2022-3-PL01-ESC30-SOL-000097905.

Ceremonial celebration of “Earth Day” in the Non-Public Nursery and Kindergarten “Świat Dziecka” in Siewierz

On April 24-26, 2023, a series of Earth Day classes, often called the International Mother Earth Day, was organized in the Non-Public Nursery and Kindergarten “Świat Dziecka” in Siewierz. The aim of the workshop was to promote pro-ecological attitudes in society and to build common responsibility for our planet. Preschoolers participated in a chat about soil pollution, waste segregation, recycling. They tried to answer the question: what can we do to keep the earth clean? In the next part of the classes, the youngest participants of the project made a globe in groups using recycled materials.

The culmination of the pro-environmental knowledge gained was planting trees in the kindergarten garden. Preschoolers, under the care of preschool teachers, planted about 40 pine seedlings. The seedlings come from the Siewierz Forest Inspectorate – State Forests.

The children were very involved in activities for our planet.

Film screening – Getting to know cultural heritage through film

As part of the project “What do we know about tolerance” No. 2022-1-PL01-KA152-YOU-000067324, another meeting was held where Polish youth broadened their knowledge about our eastern neighbor. According to the assumptions of the project, one of the two planned film screenings took place during this meeting. The screening was accompanied by a snack, which took the form of everyone’s favorite pizza.

During the classes, the participants watched the documentary “Erase the nation” showing the damage to the cultural heritage of Ukraine made since February 24, 2022. by Russian troops. The film shows the remnants of monuments, e.g. in Lviv, Czernichów, Iwanków, Kiev or Kharkiv.

After watching the shocking film, the students discussed the events that have taken place since February 24 last year. Each of the participants approaches the topic of the war that is happening on our eastern border very emotionally and sympathizes with what the neighbors are forced to experience. A large part of the project participants, wanting to somehow contribute to supporting people from Ukraine, declared that they provide, among others, in collecting clothes, medicines or other necessities.

Handicraft workshops in the kindergarten “Easter palm”

An important element accompanying the celebration of Easter is the Easter palm. To make it unique, you must make it yourself. Beautiful, ecological palm trees were created with the participation of our youngest participants in the project “Little with age, but big with eco-heart!” project number: 2022-3-PL01-ESC30-SOL-000097905, implemented in the Non-Public Nursery and Kindergarten “Świat Dziecka” in Siewierz. Handicraft workshops were conducted in three groups: Leprechauns, Smurfs, Dots.

Thanks to the professional guidance of preschool teachers: Mrs. Milena, Mrs. Marta, Mrs. Sylwia, as well as the involvement and efforts of the children, unique and one-of-a-kind eco-palms for Easter were created. To make a palm tree, preschoolers used ecological materials (bases, ribbons), recycled materials with the addition of natural materials (bottle caps, cartons, dry flowers) and decorative materials (cotton, tissue paper).

The effects of the work of the youngest participants of the project are presented below.

The calendar will be created for 2024. It will be created in Polish, Ukrainian, English and German versions. It was these languages that project participants had the opportunity to learn during the project.

On the pages of each month we plan to leave space for notes and we have designed a place for the “golden thought” for a given month.
