In the first days of the holidays, seniors from Sosnowiec participated in classes in the field of first aid, so that in the event of the need to save the life of another person, they would be able to act appropriately.
These were classes organized as part of the “E-Senior II” project no.: 2022-1-PL01-ESC30-SOL-000067331. The training was conducted by Mrs Julia Mrzyczek – a firefighter, a qualified lifeguard of the KPP in the Volunteer Fire Brigade in Czeladź.
At the beginning of the classes, seniors watched an educational film on first aid.
They also learned the procedures of behavior in life-threatening situations and observed rescue activities during fainting, injuries, sprains and fractures. Many emotions were aroused by the demonstration of resuscitation activities performed on a phantom. Then seniors could independently demonstrate their practical knowledge of first aid.
Thanks to these classes, the participants could learn not only new and useful things in the field of pre-medical first aid, but at the same time get rid of the wrong stereotypical actions that they considered correct so far.
It was a very helpful training that can bring an invaluable effect – saving lives.
At the end, professional advice provided by the lifeguard: Wear rubber gloves and a mask with you, because you never know when they may come in handy.
