A heart on a plate – love for Italian cuisine

In the month of April, the participants of the project “The world on the plate” – 2021-2-PL01-ESC30-SOL-000040182 will prepare Italian dishes. Italian cuisine is classified as Mediterranean cuisine and is considered one of the most popular cuisines in the world. A large amount of fresh vegetables, an abundance of aromatic spices, such as:

  • oregano,
  • basil,
  • tarragon,
  • rosemary
  • thyme,
  • strong cheese aroma, especially Parmesan cheese,
  • and olive oil with a beautiful golden-green color

Here are the most important distinguishing features of Italian cuisine. The first culinary workshops on the preparation of Italian cuisine took place on Friday, April 8, 2022. 12 seniors participated in the classes. The meeting lasted 3 hours. During the classes, the participants prepared the following dishes:

  • pasta with blue cheese sauce;
  • minestrone with noodles, i.e. vegetable soup in Italian style;
  • tiramisu with mascarpone;

The classes ended with a joint tasting of previously prepared dishes. The workshops were very interesting. Seniors in a nice group can experience an unforgettable culinary adventure, get to know the broadly understood culture of Italy, expand skills and techniques of preparing Italian dishes. The next culinary workshops in Italian cuisine will be held on April 22, 2022.
